Votes from 32 sites in Herat, Kandahar invalidated

MAHMOOD RAQI (Pajhwok): The Independent Election Commission Director lauded the participation of the people of central Kapisa province during Saturday election runoff.

Noor Mohammad Hanifi said that 78 polling sites have been established in the province; however the Ala Saei district polling station remained closed due to security concerns.

He said strict measures had been taken to avoid rigging and violation during the voting process, the recruitment of fresh observers was a part of this strategy, he added.

Governor Gen. Mihrabuddin safi said that 16 more polling sites were added to the total number of polling sites on April 5 election.

He lauded the participation masses in decisive runoff vote, adding that besides security threats the people have shown courage by taking part in election.
