KABUL (Pajhwok): The final results of Wolesi Jirga from Kabul would be announced today (Tuesday) afternoon as it could not be unveiled yesterday due to some technical problems, a credible source from Independent Election Commission (IEC) said on Tuesday.
On Monday, the IEC said that technical investigations had been completed and the final outcome of the Wolesi Jirga election from Kabul would be declared by the end of Monday.
A well-placed source from IEC, speaking on the condition of anonymity, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the final outcome of Kabul could not be announced yesterday as a result of some technical issues.
About the changes in the final list, he said that some new faces made to the final outcome but he did not specify the number.
Earlier, the Wolesi Jirga decided to elect the administrative panel with or without members from Kabul province.
But around 10 leading candidates on the primary results for the Kabul constituency, along with hundreds of supporters, staged a protest rally in front of the Parliament House and closed its gate and prevented the practice.
The IEC announced final results from all constituencies. However, it added that the final results of Kabul would be unveiled within two days.
