BAMYAN CITY (PAN): One hundred Afghan National Police (ANP) recruits completed their professional training in central Bamyan province on Wednesday, officials said.
But authorities said two battalions of army soldiers and Public Order Police and hundreds of policewomen were needed for maintaining election security in the province.

BAMYAN (PAN): A 100 members-strong Afghan Local Police contingent is being raised to be assigned with maintaining security in central Bamyan and Daikundi provinces, an official said on Saturday.
However, local officials said a complete Afghan National Army (ANA) battalion or at least 500 policemen would be required to keep security for upcoming presidential and provincial council elections.

BAMYAN (PAN): Most of the people of the province expressed optimism to actively participate in the upcoming elections, but some of the residents preferred to stay away during the ballots due to various problems.
The establishment of voters’ registration centers would cause low participation of people in the elections.
Pajhwok Afghan News conducted interview of as many as 25 women and men of whom only two middle agers said they would not take part because of established rules violations during the process.

BAMYAN (PAN): Residents of Bamyan mentioned their main problems included unemployment, non-existence of electricity, paved roads, health care centers and slow-paced development activities.

Without Yakawlang district, the remaining roads linking other districts with the provincial capital are unpaved. In addition, many villages are without roads with its residents shift their needed items by domestic animals.

Many Bamyani youth were going to foreign countries as a result of growing joblessness and sometimes some families are forced to leave their residences.

The people of Bamyan consider the rehabilitation program inconstant, demanding the authorities to accelerate work on projects to complete them without further delay.
The people of the province demanded the elimination of unemployment, support for education, respect for women rights and creation of more opportunities for higher education inside and outside the country.

BAMYAN (PAN): Like other provinces, Bamyan is also among the provinces where infrastructure for government departments did not exist after the collapse of Taliban regime.
However, with the formation of new government, rehabilitation projects were initiated in the province.
The people of Bamyan complain about the unnecessary delay in the rehabilitation projects. They demanded the government to pay attention to resolve people’s problems.

BAMYAN (PAN): Bamyan enjoys bolstered security and is seen one of the most peaceful provinces throughout the country.
Because of its enhanced security, security of Bamyan was transitioned to Afghans from international forces.
Despite tight security, the province, however, sometimes faces security challenges from Baghlan side in Kuhmard, Sayghan, and Shiber districts. No militant group is active in the province but it faces security problems from its neighboring Maidan Wardak, Sar-i-Pul and Parwan provinces.
