KABUL (PAN): Draft amendments to the election law are not yet final and a technical committee will set the seal on it after consultation with all stakeholders, President Ashraf Ghani's spokesman said on Friday.
Haroon Chakhansouri told Pajhwok Afghan News that a string of consultative meetings had been held from January 27 to 31 on amendments to the election law.

KABUL (Pajhwok): Political leaders and presidential wannabes discussed amendment to the electoral laws at a meeting here on Friday.
The consultative meeting at the Presidential Palace was attended by some candidates, political party heads and their representatives.
President Ashraf Ghani’s office said changes to parts of the electoral law and abolition of some sections were debated at the consultative session.

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Independent Electoral Complaints Commission (IECC) head for northeastern Badakhshan province on Wednesday accused the commission’s central office in Kabul of being behind ‘doctored’ results from the Wolesi Jirga elections.

 

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Jamiat Islami Afghanistan (JIA) party leadership council on Sunday denounced the Taliban’s expectation that the Afghan Army would be dissolved after a peace deal with the US.
The party also said some of its members had joined electoral tickets for their personnel interests.

KABUL (Pajhwok):  A number of Wolesi Jirga election candidates on Saturday closed down gates of the Independent Election Complaints Commission (IECC)’s office in Kabul over removal of their names from the final election result list.
