KABUL (Pajhwok): A number of protesters in capital Kabul demanded invalidation, halt to the recount of Kabul votes and trial of commissioners and those who committed rigging in the court.
They also warned wide-spread protests if their demand was ignored. The Wolesi Jirgaelections were conducted on October 20-21 in almost all provinces of the country with huge allegations of rigging.

With the Afghan Presidential elections forthcoming, as many as 18 Afghan presidential hopefuls have registered their candidacies. In October 2018, we witnessed the fourth round of Parliamentary elections with pervasive rigging and mismanagement. This year we are about to take part in a fourth term of Presidential elections, which are to be held this July following a three-month postponement against prior schedule.

KABUL (Pajhwok): Demanding awareness among women about elections and efforts for improving their livelihood and protection of their rights, some Afghan women have asked the government to ensure the gender has a greater say in the peace process.

KABUL (Pajhwok): A presidential election candidate on Monday said if the dismissed election commissioners were corrupt, the Wolesi Jirga election results should be nullified.
The candidate, Sayed Noorullah Jalili, told a press conference in Kabul that the political elite were fighting to grab power amidst the country’s sensitive situation.

KABUL (Pajhwok): The names of new Independent Election Commission (IEC) commissioners would be announced next week, an official said on Saturday.
