KABUL (Pajhwok): Many people in some provinces, including capital Kabul, on Saturday said they did not find their names on voter lists at polling stations and were told their names have been deleted.

KABUL (Pajhwok): Voting in the presidential ballot ended at 5pm on Saturday evening after a two-hour extension.
Earlier, the Independent Election Commission (IEC) announced that the voting would start at 7am and end at 3pm, but the period was extended until 5pm.
At least 13 candidates are contesting the election, seen as a two-horse race between President Ashraf Ghani and CEO Abdullah.

KABUL (Pajhwok): Independent Election Commission (IEC) and security organs on Saturday claimed the presidential polls were ongoing in a transparent manner, asserting the impartiality of government servants.
At a joint press conference, IEC, Ministries of Interior and Defence as well as Independent Directorate of Local Governance spokesmen presented the latest information about the presidential vote.

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Transparent Election Foundation of Afghanistan (TEFA) on Saturday said 98 percent of polling stations opened on time, with 99.5 percent security personnel and 98.8 percent election workers present at polling sites.
A statement from TEFA said they obtained this information from 5,200 trained observers who started their work at 6:30am in all 34 provinces of the country.

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Independent Election Commission (IEC) on Saturday said it has not yet received any information about 901 polling stations out of the total 4942 sites across the country.
IEC commissioner Sayed Ismatullah Mal told a press conference in Kabul that 4,942 polling sites were to be opened across the country but they received information about the opening of 4,041 polling centers for voters so far.

KABUL (Pajhwok): The process of voting in the presidential election began one or two hours late in Kabul and several other provinces on Saturday.
Earlier, the Independent Election Commission (IEC) had announced the voting would begin at 7:00am and continue till 5:00pm.
