KABUL (Pajhwok): Supporters of two unsuccessful Wolesi Jirga candidates Syed Farhad Akbari and Naseema Niyazi on Wednesday rallied in front of the Independent Electoral complaints Commission (IECC) and the UN offices in Kabul against alleged fraud in the October polls.

KABUL (Pajhwok): Preliminary Wolesi Jirga election results show 1,687 candidates have secured less than 1,000 votes and as a result their over 50 million afghanis guarantee money would not be returned.
It is worth mentioning that among 173 candidates from the Kochi tribe, 125 hopefuls did not get even a single vote.

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Independent Election Commission (IEC) on Wednesday announced final results of the Wolesi Jirga elections from Panjsher, Kapisa and Sar-i-Pul provinces.

 

 

KABUL (Pajhwok): Independent Election Commission (IEC) Chief Gulajan Abdul Badi Sayyad on Tuesday hit back at protesters and said closing roads over alleged electoral fraud was not a solution and urged them to use legal means for meeting their demands.

KABUL (Pajhwok): About 15 unsuccessful Wolesi Jirga candidates and hundreds of their supporters on Tuesday closed four gates to Kabul, seeking invalidation of votes cast during the parliamentary polls in the capital.
The candidates, along with their 350 supporters, blocked the road with containers in Qala-i-Mirdad area of Shakar Dara district north of the capital city, urging the dismissal of corrupt election officials.

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Independent Election Commission (IEC) on Monday started vetting documents of the 18 registered presidential election hopefuls, saying initial candidate list would be announced on Feb 6.
According to the IEC, 18 presidential candidates have registered with the IEC to contest the July 20 polls.
